{"id":9569,"date":"2024-01-17T15:11:52","date_gmt":"2024-01-17T23:11:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/?post_type=knowledgebase&#038;p=9569"},"modified":"2024-01-17T15:17:38","modified_gmt":"2024-01-17T23:17:38","slug":"new-analytics-online-attendance","status":"publish","type":"knowledgebase","link":"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/knowledge-base\/analytics\/new-analytics-online-attendance\/","title":{"rendered":"New Analytics &#8211; Online Attendance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"toc-hId-1904941860\">Attendance Report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">New Analytics includes an Attendance tab, which updates according to criteria set at the account level.&nbsp;This change allows criteria to update attendance information for individual courses and remove manual attendance tracking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"toc-hId--843728606\">Online Attendance Report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">For courses that have enabled New Analytics, Attendance displays as a tab within the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: Page views and participation may take up to 24 hours to display, depending when a course interaction occurs. History is displayed from April 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/largevv2amppx999.png\" alt=\"Online Attendance Tab\"><em>Online Attendance Tab<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"toc-hId-702568224\">Date Data<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Attendance can be customized to view specific data. By default, the report is configured to display by week, but instructors can view the report by day if needed. Data for prior weeks and\/or days can be selected by clicking the arrow next to the selected date range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/1_largevv2amppx999.png\" alt=\"Timeline Menu\"><em>Timeline Menu<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"toc-hId--1849588737\"><br>User Data<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">By default, the report displays online attendance for all students, but additional sections or students can be added for granular viewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/2_largevv2amppx999.png\" alt=\"Sections Menu\"><em>Sections Menu<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br>Class Dates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">By default, Class Dates are set to weekdays, but dates can be customized within the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/3_largevv2amppx999.png\" alt=\"Class Days Menu\"><em>Class Days Menu<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"toc-hId--106778402\"><br>Filter<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">By default, the report filters all criteria, but instructors can filter the report to show students who have met all criteria or have not met all criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/mediumvv2amppx400.png\" alt=\"Filtering Menu\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"toc-hId-1832545438\">Online Attendance Criteria&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Online attendance criteria may be read only, or it may be allowed to be configured at the course level.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">If required by the Canvas administrator, online attendance criteria is displayed as read only within the New Analytics page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/at.csudh.edu\/canvas\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/4_largevv2amppx999.png\" alt=\"Online Attendance Criteria\"><em>Online Attendance Criteria<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">However, if online criteria can be changed at the course level, the the Online Attendance criteria will default to the criteria set at the admin level.
