Clear Your Browser Cache

If you see the message below when attempting to access Canvas, please clear your browser cache to resolve the issue. Alternatively, you can also try a different browser.

CSUDH Authentication Service You may be seeing this page because you used the Back button while browsing a secure web site or application. Alternatively, you may have mistakenly bookmarked the web login form instead of the actual web site you wanted to bookmark or used a link created by somebody else who made the same mistake. Left unchecked, this can cause errors on some browsers or result in you returning to the web site you tried to leave, so this page is presented instead.

How to Clear Browser Cache for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, & Safari

  1. In the Chrome browser toolbar, click the More menu icon.
  2. Select the Clear browsing data link.
  3. In the data drop-down menu, select the time range where you want to clear browsing data.
  4. Select the Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files checkboxes.
  5. Click the Clear data button.

Chrome – Clearing Canvas Cookies Only

Chrome also offers users a way to delete cookies for a single website such as Canvas:

  1. In the Chrome browser toolbar, click the More menu icon.
  2. Click the Settings link.
  3. Click the Privacy and security Third-party cookies option.
  4. Click the See all site data and permissions link.
  5. At the top right, search for instructure.com or the name of your institution’s URL.
  6. To the right of the site name, click the Delete icon.
  7. To confirm, click the Delete button.

  1. In the Edge menu bar, click the Settings icon.
  2. Select Privacy, Search and Services link.
  3. Click the Choose What to Clear button.
  4. Choose the types of data or files you want to remove. Select the Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files checkboxes.
  5. Click the Clear Now button.

  1. In the Firefox menu bar, click the Firefox menu icon.
  2. Select the Settings link.
  3. Click the Privacy & Security tab.
  4. In the Cookies and Site Data section, click the Clear Data… button.
  5. Select both the Cookies and Site Data and the Cached Web Content checkboxes.
  6. Click the Clear button.
